Featured on the Duke Global Health Institute News:
“An Idea Born in the Classroom Gets Closer to Reality”
Kalia Health was featured on Duke Global Health Institute as a “promising test for preeclampsia” on the market.
Co-founders Denali Dahl and Happy Ghosh talked about the burden of undetected preeclampsia due to hurdles in access, resources and/or awareness, the story of their startup, and their visions for the future.
Dahl and Ghosh expressed that within the year, they can develop a robust prototype that is ready for clinical evaluation whether in Uganda, Nigeria, or even rural North Carolina.
The location doesn’t matter. Kalia Health’s goal is to improve maternal outcomes worldwide.
“I’d never wanted to run a business, but it provided an avenue to most quickly translate an idea to impact. It opened up doors for resources we hadn’t considered before.”
-Denali Dahl
